Kristina Norman is professor for nutrition and gerontology and divides her time between the German Institute for Human Nutrition (DIfE) and the Department of Geriatrics of the Charite Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Her main research interest are causes, effects and treatment of disease-related malnutrition or age-related sarcopenia as well as age-related changes in nutritional physiology. She gained her Ph.D. degree in medical science from the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany after studying nutritional sciences in Vienna, Austria. Since 2018 she has been head of the Department of Nutrition and Gerontology at DIfE and deputy director of the Research Group in Geriatrics at the Charité since 2017. Kristin Norman is also the general secretary of the DGEM (German Society for Nutritional Medicine) and member of the ESPEN faculty (European Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism). She is a member of the editorial board of Clinical Nutrition and journal referee for several scientific journals.
