The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.

Our aim is a healthier population, supported by high quality health care that can be equitably accessed. We learn what works to make people’s lives healthier and improve the health care system.

From giving grants to those working at the front line to carrying out research and policy analysis, we shine a light on how to make successful change happen.

We make links between the knowledge we gain from working with those delivering health and health care and our research and analysis. Our aspiration is to create a virtuous circle, using what we know works on the ground to inform effective policymaking and vice versa.

We believe good health and health care are key to a flourishing society. Through sharing what we learn, collaborating with others and building people’s skills and knowledge, we aim to make a difference and contribute to a healthier population.

«Careum prompts thinking about the future of health and care»

The Careum Stiftung, founded in 1882 as a hospital and training institute for nurses (Schwesternschule und Krankenhaus vom Roten Kreuz Zürich-Fluntern), sees itself as an organization which promotes dialogue between the stakeholders in healthcare.

Careum endeavors to show how trends in the health sector can translate into concrete education policy projects.

The aim is to provide relevant inspiration and to develop approaches that show how an active contribution can help shape the future of health and care, and particularly of education in this area.

This aim is in line with the foundation's primary objective: to promote education in healthcare and social welfare through innovation and development.

The Careum Congress, the Careum Forum, and the Careum Dialog offer perfect meeting spaces for discussing developments and future scenarios in health and education policy.

The name Careum derives from the English term “to care” and from the Greek word “lyceum.”

The non-profit foundation Careum Stiftung is a spiritually, financially and politically independent organization that maintains a liberal attitude and looks beyond disciplinary boundaries.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung is one of the major German foundations associated with a private company.

It has managed the philanthropic bequest of company founder Robert Bosch for over 50 years. Indeed it was his entrepreneurial vision, political farsightedness, moral fortitude and charitable initiatives that set the standards for the work of the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung has been in existence for over 50 years and today it belongs to the most significant foundations in Germany and Europe. This development started in 1964 when the executors of Robert Bosch's testament structured his will for the future in a so-called "Bosch Constitution." Aside from the corporation, the Industrietreuhand KG, and the Bosch family, the Bosch Asset Management company ("Vermögensverwaltung Bosch GmbH") was created as a fourth cornerstone of this structure. It changed its name in 1969 to Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH.
