Nurse Scientist, University Hospital Zurich (UHZ)
Rahel Naef is a nurse scientist at the University Hospital Zurich (UHZ) in Switzerland. Before joining UHZ in 2016, she worked as a research associate at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Rahel develops and evaluates family-centred approaches in acute and critical care. Currently, she leads a funded project that investigates the effects of a relational, systemic family support programme during critical illness. Her research also focuses on families' illness experience and support needs during later life caregiving and in bereavement. Previously, she has been involved in a series of research projects around service delivery to older persons and their families in a variety of settings. She has also been teaching bachelor's and master nursing students for many years. Rahel holds a master's degree in nursing from the University of Toronto, Canada, and a Ph.D. in nursing science from the University of Manchester, England.
