Sciana 2017 cohort to take part in final meeting at Schloss Leopoldskron

Members of the Sciana 2017 cohort are returning to Schloss Leopoldskron for their fourth and last meeting as a group.

The 12 health leaders from across Europe are convening in Salzburg, Austria, beginning Tuesday, November 27.

The four-day programme will involve members discussing the principles of a Sciana Statement which will be formulated and published after the meeting.

Through a series of plenary sessions, library talks and small group discussions, members will also deliberate on change management strategies in health as well as how to effectively communicate health and health care issues.

Disruption in healthcare and erasing boundaries to promote health will also be on the agenda.

On the last full day of the programme, members will reflect on how they wish to carry forward the successes that have been achieved over the past four meetings.

Members will also discuss the proposal for a hackathon that is expected to take place in September 2019.

Ilona Kickbusch, chair of the Sciana programme, and Sciana senior ambassador Harry Burns are present to help guide members throughout their discussions.

Previous meetings took place in April 2017, November 2017 and June 2018.

Sciana: The Health Leaders Network is designed to bring together outstanding leaders in health and health care policy and innovation. The network provides members space to take inspiration and learning from across the globe, and time to share insights gained as well as their own experiences with peers, with whom they will work to address some of the shared challenges we are facing across Europe. The Sciana network is supported by a partnership between the Health Foundation (UK), Careum Stiftung (Switzerland) and the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany) in collaboration with Salzburg Global Seminar.
