Members and foundation staff convene for third Sciana webinar on response to COVID-19

Sciana members are among those who will convene for a virtual discussion this evening on data and modelling.

Members and foundation staff will discuss data and modelling and their impact on the policy-making and politics concerning COVID-19.

The invite-only meeting, taking place under Chatham House Rules, will be moderated by Sciana chair Ilona Kickbusch.

John Palmer, deputy CEO of the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Sciana 2017); Oliver Groene, vice chairman of the board at OptiMedis AG (Sciana 2019); and Bettina Borisch, professor of public health at the University of Geneva (Senior Ambassador) are among those set to take part.

These speakers and others will discuss the scope and quality of data available, what is missing, and the relationship of that with leadership and policy-making.

Participants in tonight's conversation will also look at how modelling has been used as the basis of political decision-making.

Tonight's discussion is the third virtual meeting Sciana has hosted in response to COVID-19. Members and foundation staff have previously gathered to discuss mental health, resilience, and leadership.

Sciana will publish summaries of these discussions online soon.
