Sciana, Cohort 8 Meeting 2
10 - 14 November 2026
Salzburg, Austria

Overview

The second residential meeting of Sciana Cohort 8 will provide Fellows with an opportunity to deepen their exploration of systems leadership for ageing in good health and continue developing their cohort challenge work. Building on the relationships, insights, and priorities established during the first meeting, Fellows will further examine how health and care systems can better support wellbeing across the life course and respond to the needs of ageing populations.

This meeting will allow Fellows to:

  • Advance the development of their Sciana Challenge and explore potential areas for collective action
  • Examine emerging opportunities and barriers to creating person-centred, sustainable systems for ageing populations
  • Share experiences, innovations, and leadership lessons from across Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom

Beyond these objectives, the meeting will provide space for Fellows to explore the wider factors that shape healthy ageing, including prevention, integrated care, wellbeing, digital transformation, and emerging innovations in health and care delivery. Fellows will also continue to strengthen the cross-country relationships and collaborative leadership practices that are central to the Sciana experience.

The programme will feature opportunities for peer learning, reflection, and dialogue with invited speakers, Sciana Advisors, Sciana partner organisations, and other experts. Through these conversations, Fellows will further develop their understanding of how leaders can work across sectors and systems to create healthier, more inclusive, and future-ready approaches to ageing in good health.
