about me

Zelpha Marie Bombais is the Director of Communications at Salzburg Global, where she leads the department in producing content across traditional and digital channels. As a key member of the Public Affairs team, she works with a team of channel managers to enhance brand awareness and amplify program impact. Additionally, she plays a vital role in developing and institutionalizing internal communications processes across the organization and its programmatic pillars. With over a decade of experience in public relations, cultural diplomacy, and stakeholder engagement, she has worked as a strategic communications professional at the Austrian Embassy, HAVAS Ortega, and the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines. Before moving to Salzburg, she earned her master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies in Innsbruck, Austria, on a full merit scholarship. Her research focused on Social Media Critical Discourse Analysis, particularly the weaponization of conspiracy theory content on YouTube during the 2022 Philippine presidential elections. Alongside her research, she served as the communications lead for the InnPeace - Research Center for Peace and Conflict under the UNESCO Chair for Peace in Innsbruck and as founding communications manager at the edtech AI startup, GradGPT.
