Anna Babette Stier has been serving as the head of Directorate for Health Protection and Sustainability since the beginning of 2020. Prior to that she was head of Directorate for European and International Health Policy at the Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin. After her second state examination in law, followed by a Ph.D. at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich which she defended with a thesis on proper rights, she worked at the Federal Chancellery in the area of coordination with the federal states and the Bundesrat and was head of Division for Parliament and Cabinet Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
