Edinburgh Integration Joint Board

about me

Judith is the chief officer to the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board - the Board responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of integrated health and social care services for the population of Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in 2016, following national legislation in Scotland, health and care services were formally integrated with the aim to provide seamless care services as close to home as possible. Prior to her appointment to Edinburgh in 2018, Judith was the chief officer for Aberdeen City and has held a number of senior positions across the NHS and Local Authorities in Scotland, working mostly in joint and integrated posts across health and care. Judith started her career as a nurse and midwife and worked in some of the most remote areas of Scotland. She studied for and gained her Master of Public Health at Glasgow University and is a Health Foundation Fellow having undertaken the Generation Q programme at the Ashridge Business School. Judith is currently vice chair of Health and Social Care Scotland.
