leadership vision

On the way to strengthening health systems, I hope to motivate and empower people to focus on key topics and use good evidence to make decisions that lead to better health for all. I want to continuously provide the right conditions for my team to flourish and work together towards delivering on our common goals, and i want to continue learning and evolving to make sure I can achieve that.

about me

Dimitra Panteli leads the work on innovation at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. She studied medicine and public health and has been working in health systems research for 15 years. Before joining the Observatory headquarters in Brussels in October 2020, Dimitra was senior research fellow and managing director at the Department of Health Care Management at the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB), where she remains a lecturer (Privatdozentin) in Public Health. Dimitra´s work at the Observatory aims at supporting evidence-informed decisions in health policy and practice, particularly around the implementation of different types of innovation towards strengthening health system performance. This spans areas like ensuring access to effective antibiotics, digitalisation and the transformation of service delivery to meet the changing needs of populations in light of existing and emerging challenges.
