about me

Jenny Shand is Professor of Applied Health Research at University College London and Director of the NIHR Rapid Service Evaluation Team (RSET), leading research that delivers timely, independent evidence to inform health and care policy and practice. With over 20 years experience working across academia, policy, and frontline systems, she specialises in strategy development, health equity, rapid evaluation, and large-scale implementation of evidence-based innovation. She co-founded Care City, a healthy ageing innovation centre, and serves as its Non-Executive Director. Her diverse portfolio spans ageing, mental health, cancer, women’s health, and children's services. Jenny advises health and care organisations on strategy, evidence generation and system change including through her roles with the Harley Street Health District and ZPB Associates.
