about me

Layla Distler is head of integrated health solutions at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. There, she is responsible for establishing new forms of health policy programmes that aim at increasing the quality and efficiency of health care and that enable a provision of health care across different sectors. She has profound knowledge of global health governance processes as well as a broad expertise on the German health system with its complex structures and follows the actual debates and innovative solutions around health care provision in Germany and Europe. Before that, Layla worked at the Universities of Marburg and Munich on global health governance, global financing of health systems and international relations. She holds a Ph.D. in political science and European ethnology and worked extensively on the World Bank's global health policy funding system.
