Mona Dreesmann obtained her degree as a paediatrician in 2005 and specialized in developmental and neuropaediatrics in 2009. Following this, she was appointed Head of the Department of Neuro- and Social Paediatrics of the Children´s Hospital in Potsdam. She is particularly interested in epilepsy and established an Epilepsy Center for Children in her department. She developed processes and attitudes that ensure patients receive holistic care through the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams. In 2020 she co-founded the Action Alliance for Needs-Based Provision of Medical Aids, which successfully advocated for legislative changes to ensure the unbureaucratic provision of medical aid.
