I believe in leadership that focuses on collaboration, connections and compassion. My vision is for health systems to encourage and utilise diverse and rich networks at regional, national and international level to ensure health and well being for everyone in society.
As CSPO I work on behalf of the three foundation partners, developing and implementing the network strategy within and beyond Sciana.
What I love about my role is the opportunity to work with such a wealth of health experts from across Europe and beyond. The dynamic network keeps me up to date on international health issues and their relevance at national level. The interactions with the fellows and guest speakers during the residential meetings allow me to engage in conversations on acutely current issues and topics with leaders from a wide range of sectors and backgrounds. I am also responsible for the BHC side of the network at national level.
Louise Baker-Schuster is Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer (CSPO) for Sciana and a Senior Project Manager at the Robert Bosch Institute for Innovative Health at the Bosch Health Campus. Her career has led her down a number of different paths including a German degree at Liverpool University (UK) and an MA in European Studies at the RWTH Aachen (DE). She moved to Brussels in 2002 and worked for the British Council before taking up a post at the European Commission in DG Education in Culture. Louise decided to return to Germany and joined the Science Department at the Robert Bosch Stiftung in 2007, leading programmes with the aim of strengthening ties between schools, science, and universities before transferring to the Health Department in 2014 (this moved to the BHC in 2022). Since then, she has been responsible for several national and international projects focusing on leadership and inter-professional collaboration in health and health care, such as the European Palliative Care Academy (EUPCA). She was also actively involved in introducing the concept of Community Health Nursing into the German Health System. In her role for Sciana she is responsible for managing the network's overall resources and operations as well as being the person who connects the dots between all our partners and stakeholders such as the OECD and Charité, our 100+ fellows and the Sciana team at Salzburg Global.
