Susanne Melin joined the Robert Bosch Foundation in 2003 and is now a Program Director at the Robert Bosch Center for Innovative Health where she is responsible for the philanthropic activities around health literacy. She is dedicated to improving health care for all by empowering patients and putting their needs at the centre. Recent and current funding activities include support for the German National Action Plan on Health Literacy and for selected research around health literacy as well as for the implementation of programs and services strengthening patients' health literacy, especially around prevention and health promotion. Prior to this, Susanne's work focussed on improving health care for people living with rare chronic diseases. She holds Masters' degrees in history from the University of Cologne and the Université de Paris-Sorbonne.
