Michael Bang Petersen is a professor of political science from Aarhus University in Denmark. During the pandemic, he has been leading the HOPE project, which is the largest Danish social science research project on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on attitudes and behaviors. He has served as an advisor to the Danish Health Authorities and the Danish government on behavioral aspects of pandemic management. He is an elected member of the Danish Royal Academy of Sciences and Letters.
