JVA Mannheim / Ministry of Justice and Migration BW

about me

Lutz Philipp Breitling was born in Hannover, Germany, and graduated from Tübingen University in 2005. After several years of epidemiological research at the German Cancer Research Center, he moved on to a clinical career, specializing in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He currently splits his time between patient care as a physician in Mannheim prison and detention medicine consultancy as a medical officer at the Ministry of Justice and Migration Baden-Württemberg. In the latter position, he tries to lobby for the systemic improvement of health care for people deprived of their liberty, who constitute a population suffering high levels of inequity and discrimination.
