leadership vision

The NHS Constitution: Our health system belongs to the people. It is there to improve our health and wellbeing, supporting us to keep mentally and physically well, to get better when we are ill and, when we cannot fully recover, to stay as well as we can to the end of our lives. It works at the limits of science – bringing the highest levels of human knowledge and skill to save lives and improve health. It touches our lives at times of basic human need, when care and compassion are what matter most.

my story

The Sciana network played an important role in my professional development as a leader.

Through it, I saw new perspectives on global health and, in particular, on how health systems are tackling health inequalities, digitally enabled transformation and workforce. It helped me better understand the perspective of governments and international health agencies. The network inspired me to seek further opportunities in my career, moving from a regional role in the NHS in London to a national role in England. I often quote examples of the things I learned from friends and colleagues in the network and look forward to continuing to grow through this important community of leadership.
